Weston Education:

  • Enrollment has decreased from 2,602 pupils in 2006 to a projected 2,585 in 2010, reflecting a reduction of 17
    pupils and a percentage decrease of 0.7%.

  • The BoE budget has increased from $38.0 million in 2006 to a projected $45.1 million in 2010, reflecting a five-
    year increase of $7.1 million and a five-year increase of 18.6%.

  • Per pupil costs increased from $14,621 in 2006 to a projected $17,458 in 2010, reflecting a five-year increase of
    $2,837 and a five-year increase of 19.4%.

  • While the BoE budget has increased by $17.2 million or 62% from 2001 to 2010, and per pupil costs have
    increased by $5,846 or 50%, enrollment has increased by only 8%.

  • While the BoE budget request proposes an increase of 2.6% in 2009/2010, the BoE has budgeted Weston's top
    8 Administrators' salaries to increase by 3.5% in 08/09, and increase by 3.75% in 09/10 and again increase by
    3.5% in 11/12.

  • The average salary of Weston's top 8 Administrators will increase from $126,000 in 2007/2008 to $140,000 in
    2010/2011, a compounded increase of 11% in four years. (does not include Superintendent and staff)
