2009 Candidate Responses to WFR Fiscal Responsibility Questionnaire

From Weston for Fiscal Responsibility (WFR)

On September 8, 2009, WFR sent a Questionnaire on fiscal issues to Democratic and Republican candidates for Weston’s Board of Selectmen (BOS) and Board of Education
(BOE). We would have included Board of Finance candidates had they been on this year’s ballot.

The WFR questionnaire contained the following questions:

1. Given the current economic climate, do you endorse the objective of either no increase or a reduction in the Town Budget?

2. Given the current economic climate, do you endorse the objective of either no increase or a reduction in the Education Budget?

3. Would you be willing to appear at a Weston for Fiscal Responsibility pre-election public forum to answer citizens' questions?

4. If elected, what would be your primary strategies for maintaining high-quality services while reducing or not increasing costs associated with the board for which you are
seeking election? Please cite any experience you have had that is relevant to achieving this objective.

5. What are your other recommendations for budgetary cost-containment and/or tax relief for Weston residents?
(Please complete and return this questionnaire before September 21, 2009)
